We begin by understanding the student in front of us. From there, we create a learning plan that is structured, responsive, and purposeful.
Individualized pathways: students begin from where they are and move forward with purpose.
Alberta curriculum alignment: learning is personalized while remaining connected to Alberta curriculum expectations.
Responsive pacing: students may take more time where needed or accelerate when ready.

UP Academy is intentionally designed, which means it is not the right fit for every student or every family.
We are not a lower-expectation school. We are not a behaviour intervention program. We are not a therapeutic school. We are not a place where flexibility means opting out of responsibility.
We are a school for students who may need a different path, a different pace, or a different level of support, while still being expected to participate, show respect, complete meaningful work, and grow over time.
