UP Academy is a 100% independent, private school in Calgary and is not taxpayer-funded. At UP, we believe that the current government-funded, one-size-fits-all system falls short for many students. The fact it falls short has nothing to do with teachers. In fact, many teachers are the unsung heroes.

Up Academy Private School delivers a curriculum tailored to students in the 21st century. We are a school that offers both one-on-one learning opportunities, small classrooms and a vibrant community atmosphere. We assess each child, discover where they’re at with their knowledge and understanding, and use it to build an individualized educational plan. Their plan is then set to meet them where they are academically and socially and then take them where they need to go.

The catalyst for the creation of UP Academy sprang from two simple questions. What if building a better school system has nothing to do with governments, school boards and administrations? What if creating a better school system has everything to do with students, parents and great teachers?
